Description

Most types of traditional or conventional ceramic braces hold an arch wire in the center of the bracket. The wire is secured with an elastic band or wire ligature. In turn, the pressure of the wire moves that specific tooth into the desired direction. With Damon Braces, each of the ceramic brackets has a “trap door” design, where the arch wire slips underneath a small attachment and is then clipped into these “smart clip” braces. Once the arch wire is snapped into the small trap door, it can glide freely underneath it. What makes the trap door design so unique, is that the arch wire is in more of a floating position rather than tied to each individual tooth. This characteristic reduces tension and friction, resulting in a more comfortable treatment for our adult orthodontic patients.
